Introduction

These chocolate chip waffles never fail to put a smile on everyone's face! Best served with chocolate syrup (or real maple syrup) and a tall glass of orange juice. Number of Servings: 6

Ingredients

    2 cups Whole Wheat Flour (or All-Purpose Flour)
    2 tsp Stevia in the Raw ( or 2 tsp sugar)
    1 Tbsp Baking Powder
    1/2 tsp Salt
    3/4 tsp Cinnamon
    1/4 tsp Nutmeg
    1 2/3 cups Almond Milk (or regular 2 % milk)
    1/3 cup Coconut Oil, melted (or 1/3 cup butter, melted)
    4 Egg Whites (could use .5 cup of the prepackaged whites or 2 whole large eggs)
    1 cup Chocolate Chips
    1 tsp Coconut Oil to grease the iron

Directions

Mix together dry ingredients in large bowl, except chocolate chips. In another bowl, mix the almond milk, melted coconut oil and egg whites. Slowly add to dry ingredients until well mixed. Add chocolate chips. Batter will be thick.

Grease a waffle iron with coconut oil and add batter. Cooking times vary with waffle irons but usually take around 2-3 minutes per waffle.

Serving Size: Makes 6 large waffle rounds
