Ingredients

    1 1/2 pound 93% ground beef
    8 oz mushrooms or more if you like
    1 can diced tomatoes
    2 cans tomato sauce
    1 can tomato paste
    14 oz red wine ( I prefer merlot)
    15 oz water
    2 Tbsp dried chopped onion, or fresh (whichever)
    2 Tbsp Italian seasoning
    1 Tbsp Marjoram
    1 tsp parsley
    1 Tbsp oregano
    1 Tbsp basil
    1 tsp thyme
    1/2 tsp Rosemary
    6 shots of Tabasco ( about 1 tsp)
    4 or more cloves of garlic
    1/2 tsp pepper
    1/2 tsp salt
    2 Tbsp brown sugar ( helps cut the acid in tomato)

Tips

The longer you simmer this the better it tastes. I love to cook this large batch and then freeze the remaining for quick and easy meals... Great for lasagna as well.


Directions

brown meat and drain fat. Add remaining ingredients and simmer... Additional seasoning may be added to taste

    Incredible!
    Loved this with the wine, had to recreate this just because I have picky eaters who do not like tabasco or mushrooms, I omitted the mushrooms and tabasco and replaced them with some garlic powder,celery salt and red pepper flakes. Thank you for sharing - 2/27/14
