Ingredients

    • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
    • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
    • 2 (28 oz) cans of crushed tomatoes (each can is 800 grams)
    • 11/2 cup water
    • 2 teaspoons dried basil
    • 2 teaspoons dried oregano (or 10 drops of Oregano Oil that is 50% pure)
    • 2 teaspoons dried parsley
    • 2 teaspoons salt
    • pepper to taste
    • hot pepper sauce (optional)
    • Top with fresh chopped basil and grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Tips

Jars and Cans of pasta sauce have added sugars (usually high fructose corn syrup) and this sauce has no sugar.


Directions

Heat the oil in a large pot. Saute the garlic.
Add all the other ingredients to the pot and bring to a boil.
Once at a boil, cover and reduce heat. Simmer for 25-30 minutes.
Puree the sauce with a blender or immersion wand
Add toppings and serve over your favorite pasta or use in any recipe that calls for pasta sauce. Can add a can of mushrooms (drained) if you like mushrooms in the pasta sauce. You can also add 1/2 lb ground beef for a meat sauce (or broken up pieces of left over meatloaf or meatballs).
