Ingredients
-
Half Yellow Onion - Puréed
Ground Pork - 110g
Ground Chicken - 600g
Sliced Cheese - 4-5 slices
Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
Salt
Pepper
Dried Oregano
Dried Basil
Tips
DO NOT COOK UNTIL COOKED THROUGH. Over cooking chicken makes it tough and dry.
Serve on two lettuce leaves with your favourite condiment for a burger without the starch!
Directions
1. In a large bowl, add meat, seasonings, onion and garlic and mixed until well combined and sticky.
Note: Measurements for seasonings should all be to taste. Take a small amount of meat mixture, fry off and taste to adjust seasonings.
2. Form a large ball in your hand and press flat.
3. In the centre of the flattened ball, place a small cube of cheese and cover with the rest of the meat to make a secure and closed meat patty.
4. Fry in hot oil and flatten with spatula to form patty shape. DO NOT COOK UNTIL COOKED THROUGH. Over cooking chicken makes it tough and dry.
5. Fry until nicely browned on the outside and finish off in the oven (or my preferred method: the microwave) to cook the patty through and melt the cheese into a molten delicious goo.
Serving Size: Makes 6-7 nice size patties
