Ingredients

    3 large eggs
    1 c. kefir whey
    2 c. whole wheat sourdough starter
    1 3/4 c. whole wheat flour
    1 tsp. soda
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. granulated sugar

Tips

If you don't have kefir whey, substitute nonfat milk.
I use a waffle iron that flips over to cook, which works nicely with this thick batter.


Directions

Mix all ingredients in mixing bowl; stir until smooth. Cook in wafflemaker. If batter is too thick, add a small amount of lowfat milk.

Serving Size: Makes 5 large waffles, 1 c. batter each
