Introduction

My husbands favorite chili My husbands favorite chili
Number of Servings: 30

Ingredients

4 pounds ground deer meat, browned, drained
    2-46 oz. cans tomato juice
4-15.5 oz. cans red kidney beans, drained
    2-24 oz. jars mild salsa
    2-14.5 oz. cans diced tomatoes
2- 1.5 oz. packets of chili seasoning

Directions

Brown 4 pounds ground deer meat; drain. In large pot, mix 2 46 oz. cans tomato juice, 4 cans red kidney beans, drained, 2 jars mild salsa, 2 cans diced tomatoes, and two 1.5 oz. packets of chili seasoning. Add browned deer meat. Heat at medium on stove for at least one hour to let flavors blend. This is also great for the crockpot, but it makes more than 7 quarts, so I mix it up, then transfer what will fit, saving the rest. In the crockpot, I cook it on low for about 4 hours. Serve with low-fat cheese, fat free sour cream and low-salt saltines. This makes approximately 30-32 1 Cup servings.

    Incredible!
I wasn't sure about this recipe at first but it is AMAZING!!! I added onions, celery, green and red peppers, parsley, and garlic (this is a base that we use for any meal). I also added two cans of drained corn and a lot of cayenne pepper along with a few extra seasonings. Even the kids love it!!! - 1/3/11
