Introduction

I've been looking for ways to get higher protein into my diet and have experimented with this recipe. I use this as a low calorie way to supplement protein in my diet and using egg whites reduces cholesterol intake as well. Ingredients

    1.5 cups Egg Whites
    .25 tsp salt

    1 24-cup mini-muffin silicon pan

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
Spray mini-muffin pan with cooking spray.
Pour egg whites into pan. 1 tbsp per cup.
Cook in oven for approximately 30 minutes.
Sprinkle with salt.
Place mini-muffin pan in the refrigerator until cooled.

1 serving = 4 poppers.

Hint: If the silicon pan is too 'floppy' for you to get in the oven without spilling, try putting it into a large pyrex casserole dish for stability.

    Very Good
I found another variation of this on BodyBuilding.com, You can put the egg whites in an ice cube tray and cook in the microwave. - 1/12/12

    Good
However - DO NOT put a hot pan in the refrigerator to cool!! It raises the temperature of the other foods, and may be to an unsafe level. If you have to cool it quickly, place the hot pan on a towel that has been soaked in COLD water and squeezed out. - 11/26/11
