Introduction
I forgot this ingredient at the store for a crustless pumpkin pie so I found this recipe online and it called for coconut milk. I tried it with almond milk and it turned out great! Ingredients
-
1 cup unsweetened almond milk
3 Tbsp. sugar free maple syrup
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 pinch sea salt
Tips
Just watch carefully, since the syrup can boil over. The original recipe called for coconut milk, so you can try that also.
Directions
Put all ingredients into a medium-sized sauce pan and stir together. On medium to medium-high heat, bring contents of pan to a boil, stirring occasionally. Keep cooking syrup until it thickens and darkens in color to a rich light brown, about 20 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly. Either serve immediately, or place into clean container or jar. It will keep in the refrigerator for about a week.
