Ingredients

    2 lbs. chuck roast
    1 sm. jar horseradish
    5 standard size carrots (coins or sticks)
    5 medium size potatoes (cubed)
    2 medium sized onions
    3-4 cups of water
    1/2 cup flour
    2 tbsp. butter
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. pepper

Tips

To reduce cooking time, vegetables may be par-boiled, however, the broth (gravy) that cooks slowly really enhances the flavor of the meat and vegetables.


Directions

Tenderize meat and rub with flour, salt and pepper mixture. Melt butter in an electric frying pan (med heat), and brown meat for 15 mins on each side. Apply horseradish to browned meat, turn over and repeat. Add water and vegetables, reduce heat and simmer for 3-4 hours. Stir as needed.
