    Shrimp
    Ground Sausage
    Mixed Vegetables
    Diced tomatoes (with and w/o chiles)
    Mushrooms
    Okra
    Any other vegetable you want

Tips

Gumbo is a very versatile recipe, known for the cajun hot sauce, okra, sausage, and mushrooms. As long as you have at least these three ingredients, it's a gumbo :)

I like to make a huge batch of gumbo and freeze for lunches or a quick dinner if I don't have time to cook. This recipe is as easy or taxing on the wallet, but very low calorie, filling, and simple to put together.


Directions

Add your choice of meats, okra and other vegetables with the juices (for cans) to a stock or crock pot. If all ingredients are not covered with the juices, add water as needed. Cook on low for up to 10 hours. Season with hot sauce, seasoned salt, minced garlic and pepper.
