Ingredients

    4 cups wheat flour
    4 cups white flour
    1 T salt
    1 ounce yeast
    1/4 cup sugar
    4T bacon grease
    3 cups water

Directions

heat water, sugar and grease until grease is just melted. In mixing bowl, mix flour, salt, and yeast with dough hook. (Reserve 1/2 cup flour until you see if you need it). Add warm water to mixer and mix until a dough forms. Add the remaining flour a little at a time until the dough balls without sticking. Knead in mixer for 10-15 minutes. Let raise in greased mixing bowl for an hour. Punch air out and let raise again. This time, split dough into 3 or four loaves and put into greased loaf pans. Cover with a towel and let raise another hour. Bake 30 mins at 350F Turn out of pans onto towel or rack when baked.
