Cutting back on sugar can be challenging for those of us with a sweet tooth, but this great tasting dessert recipe is sure to satisfy and will keep you on track.

Ingredients

    Topping:
    1/4 cup whole wheat flour
    2/3 cup rolled oats
    1/4 cup SPLENDA® brown sugar blend
    1 tsp cinnamon
    1/8 tsp salt
    1/4 cup canola oil
    Filling:
    6 medium pears, peeled, cored and sliced
    1 tbsp lemon juice (fresh is best)
    1 tbsp fresh grated ginger (fresh is best, but can substitute 1 tsp ginger powder)
    2 tbsp SPLENDA® no calorie sweetener, granular
    1 and 1/2 tbsp whole wheat flour

Directions

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Spray an 8 x 8 baking pan with non-stick cooking spray.

Combine topping ingredients until well mixed and crumbly. Set aside.

Combine pears, lemon juice, ginger, SPLENDA® and flour. Spread this fruit mixture over bottom of baking pan. Sprinkle fruit with topping. Bake for approximately 40 minutes, or until pears are tender.

    I made it with apples+pears once and just apples another time. Also, i made it with agave instead of granulated sugar but it always turned out great! thanks! - 9/20/09
