Introduction

Fresh Salsa Fresh Salsa
Number of Servings: 12

Ingredients

    - 1 - 28 oz can of plum tomatoes or two large fresh tomatoes
    - 1/2 Sweet Red pepper
    - 1/2 Sweet Onion (Vidalia, Red or white)
    - Fresh basil to taste
    - fresh or bottled minced garlic to taste
    - 1/2 Tablespoon of Balsamic or red wine vinegar
    - 1 Tablespoon of lime juice
    - Black pepper to tase
    - Dash of Frank's red hot sauce or to taste

    Optional -
    - 1/2 Jalepeno pepper
    - fresh Cilantro instead of fresh basil



Directions

In a food processor, Starfrit processor (that's what I use) or by hand, chop the red pepper, onion and fresh basil leaves and chop fairly fine. Drain the tomatoes and then add them along with the remaining ingredients to the food processor and chop. let the mixture sit for a few hours in the refrigerator. Spoon off the excess liquid before serving, and enjoy ! Serve with your favorite tortilla chip (not included in the calorie listing)
