Introduction

Cooked filling made by dissolving cornstarch and spices in 1/4 of apple juice concentrate. Peel, core, and slice apples into a large sauce pan and add remaining apple juice concentrate. Cook on medium heat until apples are tender ( about 10 minutes). Add cornstarch mixture and cook until sauce thickens and boils. cool to room temp.

Add filling to bottom crust. cover with top crust, seal edges and bake.

    Crust ingredients:
    2 c all purpose flour
    1/2 tsp salt
    2/3 c Crisco
    water

    Filling ingredients
    6 cups Granny Smith apple slices
    12 oz unsweetened frozen apple juice concentrate
    3 Tbl cornstarch
    1 tsp cinnamon
    1/4 tsp nutmeg

Directions

Bake at in middle of oven 400 degrees F 45 minutes or until crust is brown.
