Ingredients
-
1 jar (1 lb 10 oz) Ragu Old World Traditional Sauce (or one of your choosing)
1 pouch (13.5 oz) Ragu Fresh & Simple All Natural Tomato Basil Pasta Sauce
1 T dried minced garlic
2 T dried chopped onion
1 T dried Italian seasonings
1 T dried parsley
a few grinds of fresh cracked pepper
8 oz frozen chopped spinach
1 can (15.5 oz) black beans, rinsed and drained well
1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes (do not drain)
1-2 tsp dried red pepper flakes (optional)
Directions
Place all ingredients in large saucepan and simmer until heated through.
It's that easy! The most time consuming part is opening the cans and rinsing and draining the beans.
Serve over cooked Barilla Plus penne or spaghetti, or any whole wheat pasta of your choice.
Makes 10 1-cup servings, with 6g Protein and 6.5g Fiber in the sauce alone! By using pasta with additional fiber and protein, it's a substantial meal, suitable for vegans, vegetarians, or omnivores!
For the meat eaters, simply microwave a few frozen, microwaveable meatballs to add to the plates, and dinner is served! Veggies are already in the sauce, so no need to cook anything additional!
