Ingredients

    1 Take the 12-ounce salmon fillet and cut into four equal parts.
    2 Lightly sprinkle each fillet piece with the paprika, salt, and both peppers. Set aside.
    3 Cut the ham into 1/4-inch-wide strips and thinly slice the shallots.
    4 Place a large nonstick skillet coated with cooking spray over medium-high heat until pan is hot.
    5 Combine the ham and shallots in pan and sauté for 2 minutes or until shallots are tender.
    6 Add the salmon fillets to the skillet and cook for 4 minutes. Turn and cook the fillets on the other side for 2 minutes.
    7 Pour in the broth and brown sugar and bring to a boil.
    8 Cook for 4 minutes or until fish flakes easily. Serve with ham mixture spooned over the fillets.
