Ingredients

    14 drumstick, bone and skin remov Chicken Drumstick
    1 cup, chopped Carrots, raw
    1 cup, diced Celery, raw
    1 tsp Oregano, ground
    0.5 tsp packed Brown Sugar
    1 serving 1 Med. Green Bell Pepper
    0.5 cup (8 fl oz) Chicken Broth
    1 serving 2 tsp Italian Seasoning (by JULIE1933)
    0.66 cup Tomato Paste
    0.25 tsp Pepper, black
    2 cup Hunt's Fire Roasted Diced Tomato
    2 serving Bay leaves dried (serving size 1 leave) (by BMAKEDA)
    2 cup, pieces or slices Mushrooms, fresh
    2 medium (2-1/2" dia) Onions, raw
    4 clove Garlic

Directions

1. In a 5- to 6-quart slow cooker, combine mushrooms, celery, carrot, onions, sweet pepper, and garlic. Place chicken drumsticks on vegetables. Add broth, bay leaves, oregano, brown sugar, Italian seasoning, and pepper.
2. Cover and cook on low-heat setting for 6 to 7 hours or on high-heat setting for 3 to 3-1/2 hours.
3. Remove chicken and keep warm. Discard bay leaves. If using low-heat setting, turn to high-heat setting. Stir in undrained tomatoes and tomato paste. Cover and cook for 15 minutes more. To serve, spoon vegetable mixture over chicken. If desired, garnish with basil.
