Introduction

Great bread for toasting and when I make myself I know what goes into it. It is real bread and will mold if you leave it on the counter. Great bread for toasting and when I make myself I know what goes into it. It is real bread and will mold if you leave it on the counter.

Ingredients

1 cup (8 fl oz) Water, tap
2 tbsp Coconut Oil - Nutiva Organic Extra-Virgin Coconut Oil
    3 tbsp Honey
1 tsp Salt | Salt Sense | Low Sodium
    0.5 cup dry Oatmeal (plain)
.25 cup Oat Bran Organic Shiloh Farms
    48 gram(s) Barley, quick cooking
    2 cup Flour, white
.5 cup Flour, King Arthur Unbleached White Whole Wheat
    2.25 tsp Active Dry Yeast

Tips

I tested my yeast first by adding the yeast to 1/2 c warm water left it sit until I saw it working. Then adjusted my ingredients accordingly.

Directions

No bread machine but you could use one if you add ingredients as listed and use the Whole wheat setting. Makes a 1.5 lb loaf.
I didn't use a machine, I mixed everything in a huge bowl and kneaded it for 5 minutes or so. Left it by a warm oven to rise until doubled in size. Shaped and formed it to fit the loaf pan. My oven was preheated to 350 and baked the bread 30 min. It made a good size loaf.
