Introduction

The crab shumai I used were lower in fat than the ones I found on SparkRecipes. Any frozen or homemade dumpling will do, or leave them out. Similarly, I used some brown rice ramen I bought at Costco and chose the closest thing to that for this recipe. The crab shumai I used were lower in fat than the ones I found on SparkRecipes. Ingredients

About a pound of Cod (fish), fresh or frozen
    1 quart Chicken Broth
    2 tbsp Fish Sauce
    1 cup, chopped Onions, raw
    1 cup, diced Celery, raw
    1 cup, chopped Carrots, raw
    3 clove Garlic
2 cakes brown rice ramen or other noodle
    2 serving Dumplings, Crab Shumai, 1 serving = 9 pieces (by KAUAI-CAROLANN)

Tips

This only takes a few minutes to throw together. I have been known to speed it up even further by using pre-prepped veggies.

Directions

Place the vegetables (including the garlic) into a small soup pan with about a cup of water and the fish sauce. Add black pepper to taste if you want. Cook on medium heat until the carrots are just softened, then add the chicken broth and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer for 15-20 minutes, then add the fish. Simmer 5-10 minutes, until the fish flakes easily -- break it up if necessary. Add the noodles and dumplings and simmer 3 minutes until cooked. Serve immediately.
