I loved this when a child but it was so bland. I've spiced it up a bit, replaced tomato soup with tomatoes, etc. Satisfying to the palate and the stomach! Ingredients

    16 oz lean ground beef (80%)
    1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
    2 medium (2-1/2" dia) onions
    4 medium stalks celery
    4 tsp Spice World garlic minced in water
    1 medium green pepper
    15.5 oz beans S&W black chili
    15 oz beans S&W chipotle pinto
    14.5 oz tomatoes Red Gold chili ready
    10 oz tomatoes Rotel hot habanero
    1 cup uncooked elbow macaroni

Tips

Prep time and cooking time are simultaneous. If uninterrupted it can be done in 30 minutes. I freeze pound bags of cooked ground meat (turkey, chicken, beef, chorizo) so I can cook quickly or throw together a small taco salad.


Directions

Cook macaroni to al dente; drain but do not rinse. Brown ground beef well. Mince/dice/cut vegies. while beef is browning. Drain fat and set aside. Add olive oil to hot pan; add vegies and saute until tender-crisp. Stir in beans (do not drain: flavor is in sauce). Add chili-ready tomatoes first, then habanero (adjust heat by using different flavor). Mix well. Add cooked macaroni back in. Stir to coat all; let simmer for five minutes to reheat and blend flavors.

Recipe can be varied by substituting turkey/chicken/garbanzos for beef. Add a touch of cumin for mellowing the flavor.
