Tips

Your favorite spices instead of what I listed can be substituted to your liking. I'm not sure what my actual sodium count is on this recipe as I rinse the beans very well of their packed water, but the calorie counter doesn't equate that at all.

Directions

Open a large can of Goya black beans and strain in a colander and rinse off with filtered water, followed by the can of chickpeas, rinsed. I buy the cans that have 7 1/2 cup servings each in them. They are fairly large. I then add them to a large pot that has two cups of bone broth and two cups of filtered water to it and follow with all the spices. I then open package of turkey sausage and cut it in 14 equal pieces as the pkg says it serves 7. It's a 13oz package of incited turkey sausage with no nitrates or nitrites in it. Add the turkey to the pot and cover with lid and bring to a gentle boil over high heat. Heat thoroughly for about 30 minutes for flavors to mesh and remove from heat. Can also be made in crock pot, though my sausage meat always shrivels to nothing when I do.
