Introduction
This is a case of substituting most of the spaghetti pasta w/ fake pasta made from lightly sautéed shredded fresh zucchini. It remains a wonderful dish w/ the zucchini being cooked only to al dente, and WILL satisfy your spaghetti cravings! You need excellent pasta sauce to insure this. Ingredients
-
1.5 oz Ground beef, extra lean (15% fat) pan broiled
.75 serving Sauce, Pasta Sauce, Ragu Chunky Garden Style, Tomato, Basil and Italian Cheese
.5 cup pieces Mushrooms, cooked
2 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1 tbsp Parmesan Cheese, grated
.25 cup Spaghetti, cooked without added salt (pasta)
2 cup, sliced Zucchini
Tips
I use Bertoli Organic Pasta Sauce, add meat and lots of fresh mushrooms.
Directions
Use the patented zucchini spaghetti tool to create your surrogate pasta using large fresh zucchini. Sauté the zucchini for 2-3 minutes in olive oil, salt, pepper. AVOID overcooking: the sautéed zucchini spaghetti cooks quickly in a hot frying pan. You can cover it to help cook uniformly. Add your cooked real spaghetti pasta to the fake zucchini spaghetti. Cover with good organic pasta sauce w/ grass-fed hamburger and mushrooms. Top w/ grated parmesan. This reduces the carb and calorie load over straight real spaghetti pasta.
