Introduction
Garlic flavoured dip that's great with toasted tortilla or pita bread! Garlic flavoured dip that's great with toasted tortilla or pita bread!Number of Servings: 6
Ingredients
-
Chickpeas - the can I usually buy is 548 ml. You may find something smaller so just alter the recipe as needed.
Garlic - If you like a lot of garlic, add more. If you're not so keen on it, use less. It's really up to you. Chickpeas don't have a lot of their own flavour, they take on whatever else is in the recipe. You could even try substituting garlic for something else.
Olive Oil - The oil is just for texture really. If you like sips on the dry side, use less. If you like it more wet (which is easier to spread) use a bit more.
Salt - Add salt to taste. I think sea salt works best, if you've got it.
Directions
Equipment:
This recipe requires a food processor or something similar to blend all the ingredients into a smooth mixture.
Preparation:
Chop the garlic. This doesn't have to be chopped finely as the food processor will take care of that.
Instructions:
1. Put chickpeas and garlic into food processor and start to blend.
2. Add olive oil until you reach the desired texture.
3. Add salt to taste. This should be done last when the other ingredients are fully mixed. Sea salt should be used in lesser quantities than regular table salt.
4. Serve chilled. Works great with toasted pita bread or tortillas.
