Introduction
Another one of my mom's "Black Box" recipes, though the card is written in my grandmother's hand. I have no idea if my mom ever made it. This is rich cake, filled with butter, eggs, milk and honey, and it fills three 14-oz cans, about 6 slices each. Ingredients

2 cups sifted cake flour
1 tbsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 cup whole milk
2 eggs
1 tbsp grated lemon zest
1/2 cup honey
1/4 cup melted butter
1/3 cup poppy seeds
Directions
Grease three 14-oz cans and put a large kettle of water on to boil.
Sift flour, baking powder and salt into a bowl.
Beat together milk, eggs, zest, honey, butter and poppy seeds.
Pour mixture into dry ingredients, beat well.
Fill cans 3/4 the way full and cover tightly with foil.
Set on a rack in a large pot., and pour boiling water 1/3 of the way up the cans.
Bring water back up to a gentle boil, cover pot and steam 2 hours.
Cool 10 minutes in cans before turning out onto a rack to cool completely.
