Introduction

A truly fantastic chowder. A truly fantastic chowder.
Number of Servings: 6

Ingredients

    16 oz Shrimp, raw
    2 tbsp Butter, salted
1 serving Onions, yellow sauteed 1 cup
    453 grams Potato, raw
2 serving Bacon - Farmland Thick Sliced Bacon
16 cup Dashi broth (by CARPEDIET)
1 cup, fluid (yields 2 cups whip Heavy Whipping Cream
    16 oz Cod (fish)

Directions

Step 1:
Trim your fish and check for pin bones. Pat dry and salt your fish and shrimp. Cut the cod into bite sized chunks
Step 2:
In a large soup pot melt butter and add the onions and potatoes (dice the onion, cut the potatoes into wedges and then into smaller pieces - this is important because of the shape, you want the narrow ends to dissolve into the broth). Sautee until the onions start to melt (about 5 minutes)
Step 3:
Chop the bacon into bits and sautee in a skillet until browned and set aside on paper towels
Step 4:
Add the fish stock or dashi to the soup pot along with some pepper and fresh thyme and simmer for 5 minutes
Step 5:
Stir in the cream and heat through on low heat
Step 6:
Stir in seafood and simmer for 5 minute
