Ingredients

    225 grams Flour, white
    75 grams Brown Sugar
52 serving Grape Tree dried pear slices
52 serving Grape Tree dried apple slices
90 serving Grape Tree pitted dates
    80 grams Butter, unsalted

Tips

Use flavouring in the crumble mix, if you like- I often add cardamom or mixed spices to the flour before blending in the butter.

Directions

Cook dried fruit in a cup of water until soft, about 30 minutes- you can add some mixed spices or cinnamon for flavouring. Sift flour into a bowl and rub in 75 grams of butter, best to have it at room temperature, until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs. Stir in the sugar- Demerara sugar makes a lovely crunchy crumble. Grease a baking dish with the remaining butter and place the fruit in the bottom. Cover with the crumble mix. Bake at 180C for about 40 minutes- I often finish it off under the grill for about 3-4 minutes to brown the top. Serve with cream, custard or yoghurt.
