Introduction
Chinese Orange Chikn Chinese Orange ChiknNumber of Servings: 1
Ingredients
-
16 oz Tofu, Extra Firm, Nasoya
1 tsp Coconut Secret Raw Coconut Aminos Soy-Free Seasoning Sauce (5 mL) (by PKNPAM21)
3 fl oz Orange Juice
1 tbsp Maple Syrup
4 tsp Organic cane sugar
.25 tsp Ginger Powder (by INUNISON)
1 tbsp Argo Cornstarch
.5 serving Green Onion (fresh-1 stalk)
Directions
1. Cut the Tofu in half along the long side. Sandwich the Tofu between clean towels or paper towels and place side by side on Baking Sheet. Place something heavy on top and set aside to press out excess water.
2. Cut into ¼ inch cubes for small cubes, 1-inch cubes for larger cubes. How do you do that? After the water is removed, combine the two sides. Then slice the block in halves until you get the size you want. Make sure the Tofu piece are not touching so air is flowing around them (pictured above are 2-pound blocks).
3. Bake Tofu for 30 minutes at 350 degrees, or until they turn into a honey color (you might have to turn them and cook them for an additional 15-30 minutes). Place your cooked Tofu into separate containers for later use in various recipes.
4. For each recipe, turn skillet on High Heat and add the Sauce, stirring constantly. When the Sauce is bubbling, and thickens to your preference, turn the Heat down to Medium Heat and put your Tofu into the skillet.
NOTE: Use one-third of Baked Tofu to reserve for other recipes.
