Introduction

This warm blueberry pie is one of my favorites. It is so easy to make, and you can substitute the blueberries with 5 cups of just about any fruits. It takes about 10 minutes of effort, and 40 minuts of patients. I really hope you enjoy this recipe.
Oh, and for those strong weight loss fighters out there, skip the crust or take a small piece, once you make it you cant resist it!

Ingredients

    5 cups fresh blueberries, rinsed and picked through
    2 T. lemon juice
    1 cups brown sugar
    1/3 cup whole grain flour
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. cinnamon
    pie dough for 2-crust pie

Directions

Mix the blueberries and lemon juice together in a large bowl. In a separate bowl mix the sugar, flour, salt, and cinnamon together. Stir the dry ingredient mixture into the blueberry and lemon juice mixture. Let the blueberry pie filling stand. Spoon the blueberry mixture into dough lined pie dish. Add top shell. Brush egg whites over top shell with a pastry brush. Trim and flute the edges of the dough. Cut slits in the top crust for steam to escape. Bake in a preheated oven at 400ยบ for 40 to 45 minutes or until the crust is nicely browned and the filling is thick and bubbly.
