Introduction
This is a left-over soup. Small amount of hamburg, onion, canned tomatoes and whatever left-over vegetables are in the fridge. You can add corn, string beans, etc. You can play with ingredients to even lower the calories more or make it vegetarian if you'd like or add pasta instead of potatoes. Ingredients

Ground beef, lean, 16 oz
Red Ripe Tomatoes, 5 large whole (3" dia)
Onions, raw, 1 cup, chopped
Green Peppers (bell peppers), 1 cup, chopped
*Sauce, Pasta Sauce, Ragu Chunky Garden Style, Tomato, Basil and Italian Cheese, 2 serving
Mushrooms, fresh, 1 cup, pieces or slices
Zucchini, 3 cup, sliced
Canned Tomatoes, 2 can
Carrots, raw, 1 cup, chopped
Potato, raw, 2 large (3" to 4-1/4" dia.)
Salt and Pepper to taste
Directions
Brown ground beef with onion. Chop and add all the other ingredients. (you can use canned vegetables instead of fresh, drained ). Simmer about 2 hours slowly to mingle flavors. It's even better the next day.

I have tried other hamburger soups but this one everyone liked. I added garlic to mine and cabbage and corn. Very yummy. You have on the list though 2 cans of tomatoes. What size is the cans? I used the big ones. - 2/28/09

I'm not sure if I answered your question earlier or not. I use 2 large cans, but if I have 1/2 a leftover jar of spagetti sauce, I fill it with water and use that plus 1 large can of sauce. I've even used 2 small cans of tomato paste (when I was out of the others) and about 2 quarts of water.
