Introduction

Ingredients

    1 c. sugar
    1 c. corn meal
    1 c. flour
    1 t. baking soda
    .5 t. salt

    .5 c. canola oil
    1 egg
    1 cup sour milk (add 1 teaspoon of vinegar and let sit 5 minutes to make milk sour)

Directions

Mix together the dry ingredients. Mix together wet ingredients in a separate bowl. Add wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and turn with a large spatula. (Her grandmother swore by turning EXACTLY 19 times). Pour into a glass pie pan. Bake at 425 degrees for 20-25 minutes.

The top with get very brown as the sugar crystalizes. Eat while warm!
