Introduction

Modified Version of the Recipe submitted by KHILKEY. This version removed all canned vegetables and uses real mashed potatoes. Ingredients

    Ground Turkey, lean, 1 lb
    1 medium onion
    1 pkg brown gravy mix
    2 cups frozen French Cut Green Beans
    2 cups frozen Whole Kernal Sweet Corn
    2 medium potatoes
    1/2 cup skim milk
    1/2 cup fat free cheddar
    1 tbsp I Can't Believe It's Not Butter Light Spread Stick (or equivalent)

Directions

Mashed Potatoes

Peel potatoes. Cook the potatoes for 8 minutes on high in the microwave or until done (soft). Put in a bowl with milk and butter spread. Mash throughly.

Shepard's Pie - Recipe from KHILKEY

Brown ground turkey with chopped onion. Make gravy mix according to package instructions, and add gravy to browned meat until meat is moist, but not runny. Save extra gravy. Put Meat mixture in bottom of sprayed 13 x 9 pan. Add green beans, then corn. Sprinkle cheese over the top. Make instant mashed potatoes according to package instructions. Top casserole with potatoes and cook at 350 in a preheated oven until top is golden brown. Serve with extra gravy.

    Just like I would have made so thank you so much because it saved me having to figure out the nutritional value! I only changed the frozen vege for fresh (cause that's what I had) and added a clove of garlic. - 5/6/07

    This is great, but we tried it by making our own gravy and using no salt butter. We cut the sodium by even more...almost half of this one. It is delicious. Thanks. - 12/29/13

    Very Good
    I would use 4 potatoes because two was not enough when I made it. Also use all the brown gravy in the meat. It was really good. I would make it again. - 12/6/09

    Incredible!
    This was so good! Instead of ground meat, I used diced leftover boiled beef brisket. I also mixed the cheese directly into the potatoes. Yum. - 5/14/09
