Number of Servings: 2

Ingredients

    # 1/4 medium fresh pineapple, peeled and cut into 1/2 inch slices
    # 1/2 scallion (spring onion), diced
    # 2 Tbsp celery
    # 1 jalapeno pepper
    # 1 tbsp cilantro
    # 2 tuna steaks 3 oz each
    # 1 tsp olive oil
    salt, pepper, lemon juice

Directions

1. Grill pineapple slices & celery , uncovered, over medium heat for 5-7 minutes on each side. Chill for 30 minutes.
2. Dice the pineapple; place in a bowl. Stir in the onion, jalapenos,celery, cilantro and lime juice. Refrigerate for 1 hour or until chilled.
3. Brush tuna steaks with oil; sprinkle with salt and pepper. Grill, covered, over medium heat for 2 minutes on each side or until fish flakes easily with a fork. Serve with pineapple salsa.

    I basted with 2 tablespoons of Annie's Natural teriyaki sauce - 35 calories, 310 mg. sodium per serving for even more flavor - 1/3/09

    excellent recipe - thanks
    we both loved it and I'm not a big fan of fish. We can't have a BBQ in our building so I did it on a grill pan and cooking 2 min per side covered (with foil) was too long, the tuna wasn't pink in the middle. I'll definitely make it again.
