Ingredients

    1 can Sauerkraut
5 links Chicken Sausage w/ Sweet Apple, cut into four pieces each
2 sm apples (your choice) deseeded and cut into chunks
Apple Cider (juice if cider is out of season)

Directions

I took a 1 qt slow cooker, and placed a layer of sauerkraut on the bottom, a layer of sausge pieces, a layer of the apple, more sausage, more apple then the last of the sauerkraut. Pour cider over the mixture until it just starts to cover the sauerkraut mixture. Cook until sausage is done. The time will vary depending on how hot you cook this at and how big of a crock pot. Start it after lunch and it will be done by supper time.

What is Sauerkraut? What it's look like? How can I substitute it? - 10/11/09

Sauerkraut is the German equivalent to the Korean Kimchee. It is pickled cabbage. It comes in a light green color or red depending upon which ever cabbage was used in the pickling process. I used green for this recipe as it doesn't overpower the recipe (the red will change the color of the sausage).
