Ingredients

    Ingredients:

    1 cup Buttermilk, lowfat,
2 cup Self Risisng Flour, white
    2 tbsp Pure Vegetable Oil

Directions

Stir ingredinets together in a mixing bowl until achieving a homogenous lump. If dough is too stiff, you may have to add a little more buttermilk to reach a desired consistency. Pour a small amount of oil into baking pan (I use a 9" round cast iron baker), and onto hands. Roll heaping tbsp dough in palms of hands until smooth, and use first biscuit to even oil in pan, then place oiled side up. Flatten slightly with 2 fingers in the middle of the biscuit. Repeat with remaining dough, arranging buiscuits around the circumference of pan. Yield should be approximately 7-8 biscuits.

Place in preheated oven at 400 degrees for 15-20 minutes. Remove from oven when slightly brown for a softer biscuit, or brown longer for crusty texture. Open biscuits with fork to add a pat of butter if desired.
