Introduction

These are sure to satisfy your chocolate cravings and you won't have to break your food plan to chase off the chocolate demon! Each cookie has right at 50 calories and they are full of chocolate gooey goodness. It seems like there are tons more chips in these cookies because I use the mini chips instead of the regular sized chips.
By getting rid of the refined white flour and cutting down the butter, this old classic gets a healthy makeover that makes it ok to indulge whenever you want.

Ingredients

1/2 cup Land O Lakes light butter w/
    Canola Oil, softened
    1/2 cup Unsweetened Applesauce
    2/3 cup Brown Sugar Splenda
    1 1/2cup Splenda
    1 tsp Vanilla Extract
    1/2 cup Egg beaters
    2 1/4 cup Bob's Whole Wheat Flour
    1 1/2 tsp Baking Powder
    1 tsp Baking Soda
    1 tsp Salt
    1/2 cup Mini Chocolate Chips

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray cookie sheet with Pam. Mix together whole wheat flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt and blend well. Set aside. Cream together brown sugar splenda and light butter until totally mixed. Beat in egg beaters until mixed in. Slowly add in regular splenda until combined. Add in vanilla and applesauce and combine. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Do not over beat or whole wheat flour will cause cookies to turn out tough. When flour mixture is totally combined, gently mix in chocolate chips. Drop by rounded teaspoons onto cookie sheets and space evenly apart. These cookies do not spread out as much as traditional cookies, so where you place them is pretty much where they will stay.

Bake 11-13 minutes or until done. Do not over bake. These cookies will appear brown before they are finished because of the whole wheat flour. Let cookies rest on sheet after you take them out of the oven for 2-3 minutes and then cool completely on a wire rack. This recipe makes 4 dozen (48) cookies.
