Ingredients

    1 lb green split peas, dried
    4 cups low sodium chicken stock
    4 cups water
    1/2 medium onion, chopped
    20 baby carrots, slice
    1 tsp seasoning salt
    1/2 tsp black pepper
    1/2 tsp garlic salt
    1 tbs parsley, dried

Directions

In a medium pot add all the ingredients.
Bring to a boil.
Reduce heat and partially cover.
Allow to cook 30 to 45 minutes or until peas are tender.
Makes 8 servings each about 1 cup.

    I also found this soup to be very good but, it takes about 1 hour and thirty minutes ( approx) for peas to be cooked. - 1/29/13

    Ive never cooked split peas before so I followed the bag and your recipe. 45min is not enough to make the peas tender, next time I know to start earlier lol. Thanks for shareing. - 8/27/12
