Ingredients

    Shrimp, 32 oz
    Frozen Okra, 1 package
    Ham Steak, 16 oz
    Onions, raw, 1 cup, chopped
    Garlic, .25 cup
    Parsley, dried, 3 tbsp
    Brown Gravy Mix (Dry), 1 cup
    Creole Seasoning to taste
    Gumbo File to taste (File is dried ground sassafas leaves)
    Olive Oil. 1/4 cup

Directions

Saute Okra in Olive Oil until brown and all slime is gone. Drain Okra in strainer to remove excess oil.

While okra is sauteing, cut ham into bite size pieces and boil until tender in large pot of water. About 20 minutes

Add all ingredients into dutch oven, cover with water. Use more water for thinner broth, less water for thicker broth.

Simmer for 45-60 minutes. Serve over rice.

Makes 20 one cup servings.
