Introduction

This uses absolutely no sugar or other sweetener (artificial or natural).
I bet you could use pumpkin instead of the applesauce, if desired. I am thinking about adapting it to use as a topping for apple crisp.

Ingredients

    6 c old fashioned oats
    2 cups natural (unsweetened) applesauce
    1 11/2 T canola oil
2 apples, peeled and cut into small pieces(I didn't peel mine, seems like a waste of time to me, plus that's where all the good fiber is)
3/4 c shredded unsweetened coconut, optional [this item is not included in the nutrition info]
    1 c slivered almonds, optional
    2 T vanilla
3/4 c raisins, optional (make sure they don't have any sugar added)
1 C semi- sweet chocolate chips (dark chocolate would be healthier), optional..... they have sugar, so if you don't want any sugar, don't have them!

Directions

Mix all ingredients except last two. Spread on tin- foil lined baking sheet w/cooking spray. Bake @ 250 for 3.5 hours until golden. Cool Completely and then add raisisn & chocolate chips.
I also added dried banana chips (homemade, no sweetener added).... bet you could add other dried fruit.
I think you could also add at least 1 TBSP cinnamon or apple/ pumpkin pie spice...
