Number of Servings: 1
Ingredients
-
2 lbs. of 97% fat free ground beef
1 medium onion
low fat butter
Skim mozzarella (Shredded)
2 eggs
Italian Bread Crumbs
8 pack of Wheat Rolls
Prego Tradional Spaghetti Sauce (1-2TBSP)
Directions
Use a Large Bowl and place fat free ground beef or turkey in the bowl, sprinkle bread crumbs over ground beef or turkey until it is generously covered, take 2-3 handfuls of cheese and place in the bowl along with the 2 eggs. Mix well together and set aside.
Sautee Diced up onion in 1-2 TBSP of Butter or olive oil until golden brown and set aside until they are just warm. (this is the longest part of the making of the burgers is waiting on the onions)
Make a hole in the center of the hamburger mix and pour onions in to the hole. Mix this very well together with your hands and then make into hamburger patties. Tastes really well on the grill or you can even broil them in the oven.
Then take a hamburger bun and instead of placing ketchup on the bun replace the ketchup with a Tablespoon of Prego on each side of bun and this I guarantee will melt in your mouth.
Great for Camping out in the great outdoors, as well as for cook outs and parties.
You can substitute the ground beef for ground turkey. I just don't like the gooiness of the turkey so I stick with the ground beef. But I have done it both ways and they are both absolutely to die for. I hope you enjoy this.
Makes approximately 6-8 hamburgers.
Great for reheating also for lunch.
