Ingredients

1 cup all - purpose flour
1/2 cup oat bran
1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt (optional)
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup salad oil
2 egg whites
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 cups rolled oats
1 cup golden raisins
Directions
In a small bowl, stir together flour, oat-bran, allspice, baking soda, and salt (if desired) until well combined. Set aside.
In large bowl of an electric mixer, beat sugar and oil until creamy. Add milk, egg whites, and vanilla; beat until well combined. Gradually add flour mixture, beating until well blended. Stir in oats and raisins.
Drop rounded tablespoonfuls of dough about 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheets. Bake in a 375 degree oven until cookies are light golden (about 10 minutes). Let cool on baking sheets on racks for about 2 minutes; then transfer cookies to racks and let cool completely. Store airtight. Makes 4 dozen cookies.
