Introduction

This is the best Chicken Parm you will ever eat. This is the best Chicken Parm you will ever eat.
Number of Servings: 4

Ingredients

4 Chicken Breasts (about 1 lb total)
Reduced Fat Ritz Crackers (about 30 crackers)
    1/4 cup parmesan cheese (grated)
    1 tbsp garlic powder
    2 tbsp oregano
    1 egg
1/2 cup Prego Traditional spaghetti sauce
    1/2 cup shredded Mozzarella Cheese

Directions

Makes 8 chicken breast halves (2 counts as 1 serving)

1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees
2. Cut fat from chicken and cut chicken breasts in half.
3. Crumb the Ritz crackers and add to a medium sized bowl. Add to the crackers the parmesan cheese, oregano, and garlic powder. Mix well.
4. Lightly beat egg in a seperate bowl.
5. Spray glass baking pan with Pam or grease however desired.
6. Dip each chicken breast into egg and then coat with bread crumb mixture. Place in single layer in glass pan.
7. Cook in oven. This part is a bit complicated so read carefully. The chicken cooks for 35 minutes total, but there are a few steps in the cooking process.
After the first 10 minutes, turn the chicken over and cook for another 10 minutes. Then, spoon the Prego sauce over the breasts and cook for another 5 minutes. Finally, sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over top the sauce and cook for another 5 to 10 minutes.

I always eat this with wheat pasta and broccoli.

I just made it. It was really easy and affordable (both great as I am a beginner as a cook). I had 3 chicken breasts totalling to around 1.3 pounds. I cut them the long way, and the cooking time still worked out great, just a lot of extra breading. :) Delicious! - 3/14/11
