Introduction

This is so close to the wonderful Amish candy that is so expensive. It will be more calories or less depending on how big you want them. I cut them for 30 servings. But oooohhh so good. Everyone loves it. This is so close to the wonderful Amish candy that is so expensive. It will be more calories or less depending on how big you want them. I cut them for 30 servings. Number of Servings: 30

Ingredients

    1 Cup butter
    1 Cup White Sugar
    1 Cup Cashew

Directions

Place all ingredients in heavy pan, cook stirring constantly over medium high heat with a wooden spoon until it reaches 300 degrees on a candy thermometer. Takes about 10 minutes or more. Immediately dump on to a wax paper lined cookie sheet ( I put pam on the wax paper also) and spread thinly. Will be very thick just keep working with it and let cool. Break into pieces. (Can be dipped into chocolate also for more calories)

I have a great friend whose husband was Amish so I like finding Amish recipes for her. I will make her some to take him! Then tell you what he thinks! Thank you! - 1/14/10
