Introduction
Homemade turkey burgers loaded with fresh mushrooms - perfect for stove top or grill Homemade turkey burgers loaded with fresh mushrooms - perfect for stove top or grillNumber of Servings: 7
Ingredients
-
20 oz. 93/7 lean ground turkey meat
1 c. 4C seasoned bread crumbs
2 jumbo eggs
1 c. fresh mushrooms, diced
Directions
Mix ground turkey, eggs, bread crumbs and diced fresh mushrooms in a large mixing bowl with hands. Blend all ingredients together evenly and form into patties, each a little under 3 oz. The mushrooms really bulk up the burgers so you can get away with a little less for more.
I heat a skillet between medium and medium high for 5 minutes with a little olive oil (to your discretion) then add the burgers once the pan is hot. Flip a couple of times to cook evenly- inside should be greyish, not pink, outside is slightly crisp and browned. Or I grill them on the BBQ with no oil or basting and they have come out just as juicy.
We use Whole Wheat burger buns loaded with tomato and avocado and put some cheddar on the burgers. (FYI - Toppings and bun haven't been calculated into the calories per serving.)
