Introduction

Ingredients

Granulated sugar 6 oz / 170 g
Margarine 6oz / 170g
Medium eggs (3)
Flour (self raising) 5oz/ 141g
Coco powder 1oz / 28g
*For the icing
Butter 1 tbsp
Cocoa powder 1 tbsp
Boiling water 1 & 1/2 tbsp
Icing sugar 4oz / 113 g
Vanila essance 1/2 tsp
Directions
Beat together the margarine and butter, until smooth.
Add the eggs and beat again.
Sift the flour and coco powder into the bowl and gentle mix.
Pour the mixture into a tin and put into the oven at 180C (we have a fan oven and it takes roughly 15 - 20 minutes)
Let the cake cool
To make the icing melt the butter and add the cocoa powder, mix well.
Then boil the water and add it.
Sift the icing sugar into the bowl and mix well.
Finally add the vanilla extract and mix again.
*If the icing seems very runny add a little more icing sugar.
Spread evenly over the cake
Then either serve with birthday candles on or cut into squares.
This makes roughly 30 squares.
