Ingredients

    1 lb. bulk venison sausage ( I use homemade)
    2-2/3 cup chopped onions
    2 cups sliced carrots
    1 cup sliced celery
    1/2 cup diced sweet peppers
    1 tsp. crushed garlic
    1 qt. canned tomatoes
    1-1/2 cups lentils
    2 T. chicken bouillon powder
    2 qt. water
    1/2 tsp. black pepper
    1 T. basil
    1 tsp. salt

Directions

In a large kettle, brown sausage. Add remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer, stirring occasionally for 1 to 1-1/2 hours or until letils and vegetables are tender. Adjust seasoning to taste. Makes about 13 cups.

    Incredible!
    Made this for dinner last night. Wonderful. I only had ground venison, but will make again with sausage when we have some. Very Filling. - 12/9/09
