Ingredients

1 1/2 cups flour
1 cup Quaker Quick oats uncooked ***
1/4 cup granulated sugar
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) margarine, chilled
1/2 cup dried cherries or cranberries
1/3 cup 2% milk or skim milk (adj. calories)
1/4 cup plain non-fat yogurt
1/4 cup applesauce
1 tsp. vinegar
1 TBS sugar - opt.
***you can use Quaker Old Fashioned Oats in place of Quick oats, same calories & fiber.
Directions
HEAT oven to 400 degrees F, SPRAY cookie sheet with nonstick cooking spray.
In large bowl combine dry ingredients, mix well. Cut in margarine with 2 knives or pastry blender until mixture is crumbly. Stir in dried cherries. Add COMBINED milk, yogurt, applesauce and vinegar; mix with fork just until dry ingredients are moistened. Turn out onto lightly floured surface; knead gently 8-10 times. Roll or pat dough into 8-inch circle about 3/4 inch thick. Sprinkle with 1 TBS sugar (opt). Cut with 2 1/2 inch heart-shaped
cookie cutter OR cut into 10 wedges with sharp knife or pizza roller. Transfer to cookie sheet.
BAKE 10-14 min. or until light golden brown. Serve warm.
