Introduction

I made this after a freezer clean out session. The meat can be changed based on what you have. I based mine on a majority of ground turkey with a touch of ground beef. Ingredients

    1 Tbsp olive oil
    1 cup onion, chopped
5 1/2 oz extra lean ground beef (4% fat)
    9 oz ground turkey breast
    Cajun seasoning, to taste
    Ancho chile powder, to taste
1 cup corn kernels, thawed if frozen
    1/2 cup tomato sauce
    1/4 cup barbeque sauce
    1 Tbsp worchestershire sauce
    2 Tbsp catsup
    6 whole wheat hamburger buns

Directions

Heat oil in saute pan over medium-high heat. Add onion and cook until tender, about 3 minutes. Add beef and turkey, stirring to crumble. While the meat browns, sprinkle with your favorite seasoning (I used cajun seasoning and ancho chile powder, both added a nice smokiness and a little kick without a lot of heat). Stir in corn. Once meat is brown, but not cooked through, add tomato sauce, barbeque sauce, worchestershire sauce, and catsup. Bring to a boil; lower heat, and simmer until sauce thickens, about 5 minutes. Serve over whole wheat buns. Serves 6.
