Ingredients

42oz Milk, I use skim but other will work
1 pkg yogurt starter or 2-3 Tbsp from last batch
(if you have neither use Dannon natural plain yogurt)

Directions

Heat the milk to 180 degree (frothing and thickening start) and let cook for a minute or two. Remove from heat and let cool to 110 degrees. This process can be sped up by placing pot in an ice bath. Once cooled to desired temp place some milk in separate bowl and mix with starter or yogurt till well blended and dissolved. Add the rest of the milk and mix well. Pour into the individual jars, place yogurt maker lid on (do not put jar lids on) and set time reminder for 13 hours (this makes thick yogurt).

Yogurt is used as a replacement to oil in baking, but it is a milk base so if you do cook it I would be careful as to how hot you get it so that you don't thin it or burn it.
