1 Cp butter or margarine, softened
3cps sugar
3 cps sifted cake flour
3 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
4 eggs
2 cp milk
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp almond extract
Directions
48 servings 1 x 1 inch square
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Butter and flour three 9 inch cake panes. make cake: in a mixing bol cream butter and gradually add sugar, creaming until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. In another bowl sift flour with baking powder and salt. Add flour mixture alternately with milk and floavorings to creamed mixture, beatin after each additon until smooth. Poiu batter into cake pans. Bake for 25 - 30 min. Cool in pans 10 min. Remove from pans and finish coolin on racks. Punch holes with a fork in cake as soon as take out of oven. Heat 1 cup milk and 1/2 cup sugar until sugar is dissolved. Pour over cake and put back in oven after it is turned off for 5 min. then cool
