My son likes his with country crock spread and sugar free syrup. I prefer mine with a few sprays of I Can't Believe It's Not Butter and a little honey drizzled over. Ingredients

    DRY INGREDIENTS:
    1 cup all-purpose unbleached flour
    1/2 cup whole wheat flour
    1/4 yellow corn meal
    1/4 cup wheat germ
    1 tsp salt
    2 1/2 tsp baking soda
    7 tbsp buttermilk powder
    1/4 tsp allspice
    1/4 tsp cinnamon

    WET INGREDIENTS:
    3 tbsp unsweetened applesauce
    1 3/4 cup water
    1 tbsp vanilla extract
    2 tbsp apple cider vinegar

Directions

Preheat waffle iron.

In a large bowl, combine dry ingredients. Add applesauce, water and vanilla until combined. Add vinegar.

Makes about 6 large waffles each using about 3/4 cup of batter.
